Fobbing 26-03-10
New sign for Fobbing added, my thanks to Terry Joyce. It is debatable as to whether the old one qualifies as a village sign.

I wonder if you can help us. Recently the painted wooden Village Sign for
Foxearth in Essex split in half. The gift of a former resident, its been up for approaching 30 years so we cannot complain. The
split is easily repairable and we have a qualified chap in the village who
is going to do that free of charge.. In fact we removed the remainder of
the sign to his workshop yesterday morning.
Now its down and on close inspection it really need re painting as some
of the colour is peeling and losing detail added to which it is an ideal
opportunity to do this.
If you know of any sign painters/artists in Essex/Suffolk you can
recommend to do this kind
of work contact:

I noticed in your News section Norman Ewels wrongly stated that the
Rayleigh sign has been replaced.
The sign still stands outside the Rayleigh Lanes.
The clock he refers to is the
Millennium Clock which is opposite the Abbey.
